Hi:
I have not been back here in a loooooong time. So much has happened in the intervening years.
I decided that a PhD was not for me, and decided to be content with a post-Masters Certificate as an Educational Specialist. But that is not important.
Jack and I were going to take a vacation to the SouthWest for the month of August. He was too ill to go. Now, my DH has been diagnosed with terminal liver failure and we are "waiting" for the end. The doctors have given him till some time in the first couple of months after the new year. I don't know that I can bear it. I'm working full-time still, but doing it mostly from home, online. My boss has been very understanding.
My best friend, Vickie Tobin, has been a lifesaver as someone I can talk to.
The people at Nashua Presbyterian Church (http://nashuapresbyterian.org ) have been fabulous and supportive. We (Jack and I) want to especially thank Pastor Sally, Bob and Barb Graybill, Polly George and the choir members for all you have done for us.
I belong to a couple of stitching groups, the CRONES (Crown Royalty of New England Stitchers) and an informal group that meets on afternoons one day a week (Thursday Stitchers). The ladies in these groups have been incredible also.
How does this have anything to do with stitching you might ask. It does only in the fact that stitching has become my solace and my escape. I've made 4 Crazy Quilt pillows and 9 blocks that I've put together into a wall hanging. Each block is in a different color (3x3), blue, orange, green, rose, neutral, pink, dark green, yellow, purple. I sashed between the blocks with a Stonehenge black fabric. Layered some black flannel and then a patterned black satin as the backing. I've held it all together by doing some machine embroidery on the rows of sashing. I think it is my best work yet. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get around to taking them.
