Sumptuous Surfaces

Well, once again, life has interferred with leisure and I've neglected posting anything here for quite a while. Lately, I've been involved with an Individual Correspondence Course from the EGA (Embroiderer's Guild of America), a class from Joggles.com called Sumptuous Surfaces taught be Sharon Boggons of justaminuteago.com fame, a needlepoint project called Twister and various and sundry family things.

In the Sumptuous Surfaces class, we have been working on 2 projects - one monochrome piece and one color piece. The monochrome piece , I'm not too fond of, maybe it will improve as I finish it.

I have higher hopes for the color one. It is loosely based on the picture below. All I have done so far is the background embroidery, which is supposed to represent just the soil. I hope it will work! ">
